About Me

No Job too small

Welcome to my Photography World

My name is Korehan Dora, a retired architect and photographer based in the UK, with a lifelong passion for architecture, travel, and craftsmanship. Through photography, I document buildings, landscapes, and details that reflect structure, history, and human intention.

My background in architecture has a profound influence on how I perceive and photograph the world. Years of professional practice trained my eye to recognise proportion, light, rhythm, and materiality — qualities that now define my architectural photography, black and white photography, and travel photography work.

I am particularly inspired by architectural movements ranging from Baroque architecture of the 16th century to modern and contemporary design.

Architects who have shaped my thinking include  Mimar SinanLe Corbusier, Frank Lloyd Wright, Antoni Gaudí, Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Norman Foster — each influencing how I interpret form, function, and space through the lens.

Alongside architecture, travel has been central to my creative life. I have photographed across Europe and beyond, with particular personal ties to Turkey and Switzerland. My work includes glacier walking photography, extended alpine journeys, and visual studies of landscapes shaped by time and climate. These experiences inform both my photography and my written reflections on place and structure.

Beyond photography, I maintain a small vineyard that I have cultivated since 2010, producing award-winning wines. I am also deeply interested in carpentry and engineering, having designed and built structures for gardens, studios, and homes. This practical, hands-on approach is carried through in my photographic work — grounded, precise, and detail-driven.

This website is my personal portfolio and visual journal. It brings together architectural photography, travel photography, black and white studies, and long-term personal projects shaped by architecture, craftsmanship, and exploration. Each image is intended not just to be seen, but to be understood.

Sometimes, even the most passionate photographers hit a creative wall. We stare through the viewfinder, but nothing seems interesting. Inspiration can feel miles away, and our social media feeds start to reflect that lack of spark.

“After all, a spark of motivation is all it takes
to turn an ordinary scene into an extraordinary social media masterpiece”.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words.
But I wonder, what else do “they” say?
